NAPSA Congress Perth 2017
The National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association (NAPSA) will welcome over 300 delegates to Curtin University for their largest Congress today.
The most motivated and enthusiastic students from across the country, representing each of NAPSA's 17 branches, will join forces to participate in education, networking and social events.
NAPSA President, Ms Shefali Parekh said, "Congress offers amazing opportunities to hear from inspiring speakers, network and make friends with like-minded students, and learn about pharmacy and its associated industries. I'd like to thank all our sponsors for supporting the biggest event on the pharmacy student calendar".
Delegates will participate in a week long education program featuring a line-up of first class speakers, headlined by the Honourable Ken Wyatt, the first Indigenous Member of the House of Representatives. The education program will address areas of health that have generated much attention in recent times including antibiotics, medical cannabis, rural pharmacy, opioid addiction and more. NAPSA also encourages all students to partake in the PSA Pharmacy Student of the Year competition.
NAPSA Congress offers delegates the opportunity to refine their pharmacy practice skills through a wide array of activities. These activities assess a pharmacy student's ability to work efficiently and accurately to deliver desirable health outcomes to patients and the broader community.
NAPSA Congress also provides an environment that allows students to extend their professional networks. The Industry Trade Show will allow students to establish these connections with representatives from the industry's peak bodies prior to entering the workforce.
NAPSA Congress Chair, Ms Rosie Earl said, "Congress is such an amazing event. My Perth Congress Organising Committee (PCOC) look forward to seeing our delegates connect with the pharmacists and professionals Western Australia has to offer".
