I am currently a 3rd year Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science Double Degree student at the University of South Australia. It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the Director of Media and Publications for the 2017/2018 term. I am also the current President of the South Australian Pharmacy Student Association (SAPSA) for 2017 and had previously held a position as the Social Secretary on SAPSA in 2016.
In my three years at uni I have found myself heavily involved in SAPSA and as President this year it has made me more intrigued with the capability of pharmacy students to advocate for change in the pharmacy world. With that in mind, I held my breath and went up for a NAPSA Board position and was privileged enough to be elected as Director of Media and Publications.
During my term as an Executive Director on the NAPSA Board, my goal is to engage more pharmacy students with NAPSA not only through NAPSA Congress but in student driven pharmacy advocacy, as we are the next generation of pharmacists. I aim to achieve this through a facelift of the various forms of communication both social and formal platforms to get more attention and speak up as students on the ever-changing profession we are entering.
We are the voice of tomorrow and with social media as our ammo we can bring awareness to our pharmacy profession. I am following on from the immediate past Executive Director and hope that I can provide NAPSA students with more resources on the NAPSA website as change is on its way. I am all ears for any ideas or issues you would like to raise in regards to the NAPSA website so feel free to contact me through firstname.lastname@example.org
