Sandra Minas

President

La Trobe University

If someone told me a few years ago that an association could provide growth, development, networking opportunities, life long friends, and also inspire a greater passion for the industry I'm studying towards; I would've told them that it was too good to be true. Well fast-forward a few years later and I've come to realise just how accurate this statement is.

It is with great honour that I introduce myself to you all as NAPSA President for the 2017/2018 term. NAPSA holds a very special place in my heart as I almost come into my 5th year as a part of this amazing association.

My pharmacy degree started off in Darwin, where I was the First Year Representative for TEPSA. I attended my very first NAPSA AGM in this year and my journey is now continuing at La Trobe University, Bendigo. Where I am studying in my third year of the Bachelor of Pharmacy Honours.

For my local branch BAPS, I have been the NAPSA Chair, Vice-President and am currently the Liaison Chair. For NAPSA I have previously been the Pharmacy Awareness Chair and the Executive Director of Public Relations.

I am extremely excited for the upcoming term working with the Board and Chairs, who are all strong like-minded individuals striving towards the same ambition.

One of my aspirations as president is to strive to strengthen NAPSAs relationships with our Industry bodies. As well as provide greater platforms and prospects for all members, through education, myNAPSA and networking.

Moulding our studies at University and the opportunities that NAPSA provides allows us to achieve our goals as future pharmacists. After seeing these opportunities first hand, I have no doubt that if you become involved, whether that be at your local branch level or through NAPSA, you too will believe it as you experience it! Seize every opportunity and make your journey through pharmacy your own, as you can create whichever path you choose.

As your president I am here to advocate for you, so if you have any questions, concerns or just want to chat feel free to contact me at president@napsa.org.au
